Basically, the following aspects are important for selecting filter media: temperature, grain size, inflow velocity, chemical resistance, moisture, cleaning behaviour
Filter media:
- Polypropylene fleece (PP 973025): oil and water-resistant, chemically resistant, air permeability 1,000m³/m²h, medium tensile force 200N/cm², temperature resistance 70°C; sample products: animal feed, grain, gypsum, lime, cement, sugar, sodium carbonate (soda)
- Polyester fleece (PE 973001): oil and water-resistant, but danger of hydrolyses in case of moisture, air permeability 600m³/m²h,·medium tensile force 600N/cm², temperature resistance 70°C (dry heat); sample products: lime, cement, fly ash, quartz powder
- Coatings for PE:
- Aluminium (973111): conductive, air permeability 700m³/m²h,·medium tensile force 900N/cm², temperature resistance 120°C (dry heat); sample products: coal, wood, betonite, sewage sludge
- Teflon membrane (973995) air permeability 130m³/m²h,·medium tensile force 300N/cm², temperature resistance 120°C (dry heat); sample products: fine dusts, e.g. coal
